Hello and welcome to my website.
I hope it gives you some semblance of who I am and how and why I work.
After nearly twelve years in private therapy practice and twenty in education and counseling, my fascination with and love for the children and adults with whom I work grows and grows.
Even through all the change and loss the COVID pandemic has wrought, I have cherished my work with clients, sometimes more than ever before. People are generous of heart and mind- I get to spend my working life with many.
I hold two master's degrees from Columbia University’s Teachers College. Its counseling psychology program has deep roots in multicultural psychology and Rogerian therapy. My own therapeutic orientation can be characterized as eclectic and predominated by psychodynamic, multicultural psychology, and queer theory. I have considerable experience with child, adolescent, and adult clients who live on the transgender spectrum, as well as LGBQA+ clients of all ages.
My therapeutic style is Rogerian, person-centered therapy. Carl Rogers and his concepts of congruence, empathy, and unconditional positive regard inform all the work I do.
If you would like to speak with me about starting therapy, please reach out by phone call, text, or email. I will be delighted to meet you.
**To join the waiting list for non-binary, transgender, gender-fluid, and otherwise non-cisgender children and adolescents- or for short-term parent and family consultations, please email me here.
